Hello Beautiful Beaders,
One of my favourite times in the Beading calendar is upon us, can you guess what it is? No, not the sweet smell of Pumpkins, or the faint whiff of a Christmas Wreath. ‘Tis in fact the season to be Beading at one of the many events we will be going to within the next few months! SO exciting!!
Attending these events is my absolute favourite because I get to meet all of you Beautiful Beaders in person. You can even join in a class or a free demonstration with me, plus we always have special event offers available too.
It really is a wonderful forum to meet all of your favourite Beading brand ambassadors. You can share creative ideas and see much more of the vast range of products on the market right now. Of course all of which and much, much more is also available in our Market Deeping store 7 whole days a week!
Anyway, the next few months are jam packed with exciting calendar must-do’s, starting this Sunday 14th October with our 31st Charity Dabble Day. These days are designed to introduce you to different creative processes. It’s a really wonderful way to meet new and like-minded people while trying out a new craft or Beading technique.
The day runs from 10am-3pm. So do come along to the Market Deeping Community Centre and enjoy a huge 7 tables of papercraft and jewellery making, including my favourite Kumihimo. Refreshments will be available and our infamous raffle will be running. Booking is not required and all proceeds go to the well deserved Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.
Next stop after that is the Big Bead Show at Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey on the 20th October, from 10am to 5pm.
If you’ve not been to the Big Bead Show before then you’re in for a treat. Brought to you by Bead & Jewellery magazine, it’s the biggest ‘all Bead’ fair in the UK.
There are exhibitors stocking supplies for all your Beading needs from wirework and polymer clay, to lampwork, silversmithing and a whole lot more. You’ll never have seen so many beads in one place before…except for our lovely store of course! Lol
We have some free tickets to the Big Bead Show up for grabs. For your chance to win you can either enter the competition on Facebook or mention in the comments box below your favourite Beading technique. Once all entries/comments are in we will draw a winner. (If you are not on Facebook please call the shop after the 16th October to find out if you’ve won)
The next stop after that on the Riverside railroad is the amazing Make It show. This has now moved to the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The new venue will see over a hundred exhibiting companies and will continue to be one of the biggest and most popular crafting events in the South of England. It attracts leading names in the business and naturally thousands of excited visitors.
You’ll have to be patient for this one though as it’s not until the start of next year (though worryingly 2019 is actually only about ten weeks away!?!).
If you can’t wait for that one then be sure to pop along to Stephanie Weightman’s Crafting Live event, in conjunction with Create and Craft TV. It’s taking place at the East of England Showground in Peterborough, on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th October.
Open from 10am-5pm you’ll find a vast range of exhibitors stocking stamps, dies, decoupage, fabric, wool, ribbon, beads and much more.
Speaking of much more I was going to try to sneak in a little blog-special technique this week but I’ve had so much to say that I’ve run out of time. So you’ll just have to tune in next time!
Until then Happy Beading!
xxDonna

Hi love your website and just watched you on create and craft. Can you let me know if you are at the NEC this weekend as I am going on Saturday and would love to see you in the flesh so to speak. I really want to try Kumihimo as I purchased a beautiful necklace off a friend and would so much like to do one for myself. Many thanks Cynthia
Hi Cynthia. Sorry I missed your comment – it went into the cyber vortex I think! Lol. Hope you had fun at the NEC and that maybe Santa brought you a kumihimo kit for Christmas. We are back at the Big Bead Show in April, so it would be lovely to meet you there if you get the chance to come along. xDonna
