Split Handled Rope Bowl Workshop – Sewing & Textile Craft Class

Join us at Riverside Beads & Crafts in Market Deeping, near Peterborough for our practical and creative Split Handled Rope Bowl Workshop. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create a stylish and functional rope bowl or basket using cotton clothesline rope and your sewing machine.

This workshop will guide you through the key techniques needed to work with cotton rope (also known as sashing cord). You’ll learn the essential steps involved in shaping your bowl, creating split handles, and neatly finishing the ends of the rope for a professional result.

As you work through your project, you’ll practise each stage and build confidence using your sewing machine to construct your bowl. By the end of the session, you’ll have a beautiful handmade basket that’s perfect for storage, décor, or gifting.

While it can be helpful to have attended a rope coaster workshop, this is not essential, and beginners are very welcome.

• Coloured headed pins
• Size 90 jeans needle
• Cream or white Moon thread (available in-store)
