Hello Beautiful Beaders,
I don’t know about you but I am getting used to the new normal. I’m embracing the extra time to work on new projects and…well…sleep a bit more. 😂 I hope you are all happy and as content as possible. You can take away our shops but you will not stop us Beading! Lol
An illustration of this is all of the beautiful creations you guys have been sharing between each other and online. There have been some gorgeous, rainbow inspired creations made by our loyal Riverside family (that’s YOU!). Our own Heidi Summers recently sent each of the team one of our new Hope rainbow angel charms in the post. Such an amazing gift to receive, a real symbol of love, friendship and hope. ♥️🌈
For our more local customers we have exciting news. We have introduced a ‘Click and Collect’ service for website items! So you can fill your basket on the website and then opt to come to the store to collect it. Collections are timed and you won’t be able to look around the store yet I’m afraid, but it saves you the postage costs.
You can still telephone the store and place an order for collection, if you know someone who doesn’t have the internet. Our number is 01778 344 550. We are also more than happy to offer free local delivery on orders over £10 to any vulnerable customers, not able to leave their homes.
Please spread the word because art and craft therapy can really help people during this isolated time. It keeps the hands busy and the brain engaged. Plus we have so much available, from art and beautiful Beading supplies to sewing and model making equipment. There’s a lot more in store than online so if in doubt just give us a call.
In time, and in line with Government advice, we hope to re-open with new and improved safety standards. The store will be limited to a maximum number of customers at any one time, to ensure social distancing is possible. Much like some of the supermarkets I am working on using a one way system, with markers to ensure that people keep two meters apart from the next customer.
I’m also looking into the idea of a booking system for people travelling specifically to see us. This would mean that you could ‘fast track’ the queue based upon your pre-booked time slot.
It is likely that we will re-open with reduced hours. This will enable us to spend more time cleaning thoroughly at the beginning and end of each day. It will also give us time to re-stock the shelves without getting in the way of the customers.
It is all very new but our priority is keeping you guys safe while you are here in our store.
In other news we have been busy donating elastic, buttons, thread and lining fabric to key workers and the NHS. I’ve personally had a huge clear out of my bed linen which many charities are using to make masks and scrubs wash bags for nurses and doctors. If you have any spare bedding of your own then it is a good time to have a clear out. Your old bedding to help to keep people safe!
The government have now advised people to wear a face mask when in confined areas such as public transport, shops and other enclosed spaces. The advice seems to be to make it multi-layered if possible, in a polyester cotton fabric.
We have all of the materials you need to make your own beautiful mask online and in store. Call or order online to get your components now. Here is a handy pattern to help you create your own:-
The last thing I wanted to discuss is actually a question for you guys. It looks like we may not be able to hold any workshops for some time now.
With this is mind I’d like to know if you would be interested in attending online classes using a group chat website like Zoom or other?
If that’s something you might be interested in please comment in the message box below or send a message via our Facebook page.
Right it is definitely time for a cup of tea. I may even go crazy and have a biscuit as well. Its lockdown madness I tell you! Lol
Missing you guys so much but happy you are all safe and well. Until next time happy Beading!
