What an amazing, award winning week we have had! Who’d have thought that our little craft shop would win not one, but TWO awards in the International craft awards?! International I say!
We really are so proud to be the winner of the awards for best craft shop of the UK Midlands and highly commended for our extensive range of angel kits.
We are all on cloud nine and to celebrate we are inviting all of you to a big ol’ Riverside party on Thursday the 28th of February, from 10am to 2pm. Caroline & I will be offering free ‘make and take’ demonstrations, plus there will be refreshments and super spot prizes! It’s our way of saying THANK YOU to all of you and your support with these awards. If you can’t make it, however, here’s a cheesy little video we made to say cheers and hopefully make you chuckle.

In other news I’m very proud to tell you more about our exciting new sewing event that’s coming up on the 20th of February, 10am – 2pm. Judi from Stuff ‘n’ Stuff Craft Creations will be making syringe driver bags for the charity Ngnpuk.
A syringe driver is a device used in palliative care. It is a box that is attached to the patient by a needle, through which drugs can be administered giving a constant flow of pain relief. Without these devices patients have to wait for a nurse to attend to administer countless injections every time they are in pain. These devices can help people remain at home instead of needing to go into hospital or a hospice in their final days as their pain can be successfully managed.
Ngnpuk is a local registered charity founded in 2016 by two school friends (and a husband). Their goal is to provide as many people as possible with these essential pain saving devices. In fact that is where their name came from NGNPUK – No Gain No Pain UK.
The syringe bags are reversible and made from washable materials. They have a handle and house the driver, allowing it to be attached to a bed, chair or even be held by the patient.
Each bag is donated to one person only. They are not transferable due to the possibility of cross infection. This is why there is a constant demand.
The bags that NGNPUK supply are used within the patients home and make a real difference. It means a great deal that someone has taken the time to hand make a special bag for them.
