This blog will take you through a handful of the amazing charities Riverside supports. The saying goes that charity starts at home, and in our case it starts at Riverside Beads and Crafts.
Donna’s passion for charity work began with the Teenage Cancer Trust many years ago. Her cousin became sick with the disease and she wanted to help in some small way. The Trust is just one of the charities that we have supported over the years, and here are some others that you might find of interest:

The annual Remembrance Sunday service happens on the second Sunday in November every year. Remembrance Sunday marks the day that World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918. On this day, a two-minute silence is held at 11am to remember the people who have died in many wars throughout the years.
It is tradition for people to buy and wear a paper poppy in the week’s leading up to and including the 11th of November. All proceeds from the sales of the poppies goes to the British Legion, supporting veterans in the UK. The remembrance poppy was inspired by the World War I poem “In Flanders Fields”. Its opening lines refer to the many poppies that were the first flowers to grow in the soil of soldiers’ graves in Flanders, a region of Belgium.
We are proud to have have raised hundreds of pounds for the Poppy appeal. We have a fabulous Poppy making kit which includes all materials. Each sale of a kit means more money towards the charity. To buy yours click here.
