Christmas Crafting with Riverside Beads and Crafts

‘Twas The Night Before Christmas Craft

Happy Christmas Beautiful Beaders!

Can you believe it’s Christmas Eve? Crafting Christmas Eve that is.

Very excited about my Christmas launch on Create and Craft TV tomorrow morning at 9am. Make sure you are glued to that telly box all day because we will be launching the very best and very newest Christmas products for you to play and make with. Exciting!!

In honour of this prestigious occasion I have written a short poem for you, which some of you may recognise the mechanics of…..lol.

‘Twas the night before Christmas Craft, when all through Riverside,
Not a beader was stirring, all were closed-eyed.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Deano soon would be there.
The staff were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Sparkle Spacer Angels danced in their heads.
Caroline with her card kit, and me with hair vines,
Had just settled our brains for a wee drop of wine,
When out on Deeping High Street there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my Beading tray to see what was the matter.
Away to the window, I was up like a flash,
To see what was the noise, what had caused such a crash.
Outside was a glint of the mid-summer glow,
Giving lustre of embossing powders to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did soon enter,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny Presenters,
With a large as life driver, lively, yet serene,
I knew in a moment he must be St. Dean.
More rapid than Quick Picks his presenters they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now, Daniel! Now, Racheal! Kristine, Nigel and Jenny!
On, Andy! On Loen! on, Martyn and Ben-nie!
To the top of the building! To the top of the wall!
Now craft away! Craft away! Craft away all!”
So up to the shop roof the presenters they flew,
With a sleigh low on craft goods, and St. Dean too,
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the slates,
The beading and glueing that craft fingers make.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the Riverside chimney St. Dean came with a bound.
He was dressed all in glitter, from his head to his foot,
Stuck on with Stix2, boy does that stuff stay put!
Dave the Dragonfly kit he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a customer just opening their pack.
His eyes—how they twinkled when he looked in our store,
Astonished, impressed, couldn’t believe what he saw!
His Presenters came in and they too thought it ace,
As they clambered to handle Stephanie’s Tattered Lace.
With glee, carefully, they examined the lot,
Every ribbon and button and Bead and BigShot,
Finding papers and stamps, they had fun so sublime,
They ooh-ed and they Ahh-ed at cards by Caroline,
When Dean found the workshop how surprised was he to see,
All the demonstrators asleep, tucked up in our Makery.
Leoni and Heidi, Eve Marshall and Lou,
Maggie Moore, Jan, Vicki and Paul Church too.
As each one awoke then out popped our dear Rae,
Who had fallen asleep ‘neath piles of macrame!
Dean spoke not a word, but got straight to it,
And filled all the stockings, with beaded bauble kits,
With Sizzix and felting and of course lava beads,
He filled them right up with their Bead and Craft needs.
Then all at once he did turn his silvery-fro,
And suddenly exclaimed “Kumihimo-ho-ho-ho!”
And giving a wink, up the chimney he crawled,
Stockings in hand, what a fine Christmas haul!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas Crafting to all, and to all a good night!”

Happy beading my beautiful Christmas beading elves.
