You know it’s been reported as scientific fact that people who have pets are more confident and live happier and healthier lives. Animals play an important part in my work and life as a whole, and it gives me great pleasure to help out at, and sponsor things, like the upcoming Market Deeping ‘Bark In The Park’ dog show. This local event is an annual treat for many a coveted canine and I’m absolutely delighted to be a small part of it this year.
I was even considering using my newly found sewing skills to make some little pet neckerchiefs for the occasion. They are really simple to make and since polishing my skills on our new Sewing Machine Basics course, I’ve been whipping up all sorts of soft furnishings and fashion accessories, for both two and four legged friends!
Our next class in on Monday the 9th of July, from 10.30-1, here at the Riverside Makery room. So, if you want to learn how to use your machine, from threading the needle to preparing fabric, then do call us and book yourself in. Dogs and cats, amongst other pets, are the inspiration for so many of our craft and Beading friends, from Eve Marshall’s felted animals to our newest in-store additions of embroidered picture kits including flamingos, dogs and (in the words of Mr Durrell) other animals.
I’m even working on some new Dragonfly kits, one of which will launch on Create and Craft TV on the 11th of July at 9am. I’ll give you a clue….he’s named after one of my sons…for a sneak preview click here.
