Join our talented glass artists, Bev and John, for a colourful and creative workshop. During this four-hour class, you will make your own beautiful beach sunrise stained glass light catcher to hang and enjoy at home.

Inspired by the peaceful colours of a sunrise over the beach, this lovely design will brighten your window, even on a dull day!

You will learn the traditional copper foiling method, also known as the Tiffany method. This technique uses copper foil and solder to join individual pieces of glass into a decorative design.

First, Bev and John will show you how to cut and grind the glass safely. Next, you will learn how to apply copper foil around the edges. You will then solder the pieces together before finishing your light catcher ready to hang.

No previous stained glass experience is needed. Our experienced tutors will guide you through every stage, making this workshop ideal for complete beginners.

Whether you come with friends or join us on your own, you can enjoy a relaxed and friendly creative experience while learning something new.

Skill Level: Complete beginners welcome

Includes: All glass, materials, use of tools, expert tuition and protective equipment

Age Restrictions: Not suitable for children under 14. Participants aged 14–16 must be accompanied by an adult.

What to Wear and Safety Information

During this workshop, you will work with glass, heat, solder and chemicals. Therefore, all participants must follow the safety instructions provided by Bev and John.

• Safety gloves, protective glasses and aprons will be provided.
• Please wear closed-toe shoes. Open-toe footwear is not permitted.
• Wear suitable clothing that you do not mind getting marked.
• Follow all safety guidance throughout the session.
• Due to the lead content in the solder, this workshop is not suitable during pregnancy.

Your tutors will demonstrate each technique and explain how to use the tools safely before you begin.
