Hello Beautiful Beaders,
It’s techniques time again and this month I’m excited to share another classic jewellery making trick with you. I’m going to show you a few tips on how you can use chain, a must for those handmade pieces that only require a short burst of the shiny stuff!
You can use Jump rings and chain to add movement to your projects, open chain in the same way as jump rings. You can attach varying lengths of chain to a bag charm.
For more hints and tips you must pop into our new store which is now officially open for business! We had a wonderful grand opening party week with visits from celebrity guests such as Dawn Bibby and also the esteemed Dean Wilson of Create and Craft TV.
Speaking of Create and Craft TV I’m going to be back on your screens on Wednesday June 7th at 9am with a fabulous new offer. You’ll have to tune in to find out more, or set your tv to record! If you haven’t already tried it then why not record the programme, order the kit and bead along with me in the comfort of your own home. How’s that for a one to one tutorial?
We’re also planning a big month of ‘Make and Takes’ in June, covering a variety of skills and techniques. These mini teach sessions are absolutely free and you get to take away the item that you make!
They will all mainly be held in our beautiful new ‘Makery’ room (think Bakery but with Crafts and Beads as the delicious goodies in production!).
This brings me nicely on to this month’s fabulous competition, where one lucky winner will win either a signed copy of my Kumihimo book kit OR a place on one of our upcoming Kumihimo workshops.
All you have to do is tell us what kind of workshop you’d most like to see take place in the Riverside Makery room.
To enter simply post your answer in the comments box below or add your answer to the post on our Facebook page. Don’t forget to add the hashtag #riversidemakery at the end of your answer.
So that’s it from me for this month. I’ll be back the second week of June with more top tips and treats from Riverside Beads.
Until then….Happy Beading!
