The Big Crafternoon Tea
Join us for The Big Crafternoon Tea at Market Deeping Community Centre, just a short walk from Riverside Beads. This special day blends hands-on creative workshops with a delicious afternoon tea, making it the perfect treat for craft lovers.
Throughout the day in our February class, you’ll explore a variety of craft projects led by our talented tutors, each bringing their own speciality. Try your hand at card making, jewellery making, mini painting and beading too. It’s like our popular “Dabble Days,” but with a smaller, pre-booked groups to ensure you have plenty of time to create, chat, and enjoy each activity. Step-by-step guidance is provided, so whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, you’ll gain new skills and take home beautiful handmade creations.
We are aiming for you to try 4 main crafts, the card making, jewellery making and mini painting. Time permitting there will be a chance to enjoy a mini make of a beaded character.
Alongside crafting, enjoy a delicious afternoon tea with sweet and savoury treats, plus refreshments throughout the day. If you’ve joined one of our Crafternoon Teas before, you’ll know how inspiring they are — this larger event offers even more project choices, creativity, and, of course, our famous afternoon tea.
The day is relaxed and friendly, giving you the chance to craft, connect, and indulge in a truly creative experience.

Stuart Brown –
I attended the October 2025 event and had a wonderful day.
Everything was well arranged and we were looked after throughout the day with great tutors, people on hand to offer drinks and answer any questions and it seemed like there was always something to do.
I got to try new crafts and experienced jewellery making, card making, needle felting and air dry clay.
I am a very experienced crafter and I found it fun and refreshing to follow the lead of a tutor and learn some new things.
And then there was the afternoon tea (lunchtime). This took a little while to set up so I nipped over the road to shop at Riverside Crafts and was back in time for a stand full of sandwiches, crisps, cake and scone suitable for a vegetarian (they checked as we booked in if we had any dietary needs).
What a wonderful day. I do not think this will be my last Crafternoon.
If you are thinking of giving this a go do. It is great value for money for such a full day of events and experiences. And not forgetting the chance to meet other crafters and the fantastic staff and tutors from Riverside Crafts.
Donna –
