Riverside Beads Beading Retreat 2025
Discover Riverside Beads Beading Retreat 2025 hosted by Donna and the Riverside Team.
This year we have two retreats at The Granary (Molecey Mill). Our first retreat will run from Monday 16th June – Wednesday 18th June and our second retreat will run from Friday 20th June – Sunday 22nd June. You can explore The Molecey Estate by visiting their website here. Our main aim from the retreat is for you to have an informative, enjoyable and relaxing time beading with expert tutors and like-minded guests. Both retreats will follow the same structure and cover the same classes (or as close as possible).
You will complete around 7/8 workshops plus some additional smaller projects over the event and will be able to take all of your finished projects home with you, plus all of your new knowledge from our expert tutors. The workshop content from previous years has included Kumihimo, Macramé, Chain Maille, Bead Weaving and more! You will also be able to explore the gorgeous grounds of the Granary and make use of all their facilities. The venue has both an outdoor and indoor classroom, so we can be prepared for whatever the weather!
Retreat Options
Full Retreat
We have various options available for our retreat this year. Our ‘Full Retreat’ includes staying in beautiful accommodation provided by the venue and attendance on all of our workshops hosted by our wonderful team throughout the event.
The Molecey Estate has 14 bedrooms. As the venue is Grade II listed and built in 1773, there are no ground floor bedrooms and all rooms have some steps and stairs. Please consider this is a historic mill and you will need to be able to use the stairs if you wish to stay in the accommodation. Some of the rooms have a shared bathroom (sometimes down some steps) and some have an en-suite. You can explore all the bedrooms, and the history of them, by clicking here. The rooms can be single occupancy or available at a discount for sharing. Please note, bedrooms will be randomly allocated. Please contact us if you have any queries or concerns.
Day Passes
Our ‘Day Passes’ gain you access to all of the workshops, with the option to join us for one or both of the days from 08:00. Those opting for a day pass(es) are welcome to either camp on-site on the stunning grounds for free or explore alternative accommodation options. The venue is situated between Market Deeping and Stamford, with plenty of local hotels and venues available to book. A beautiful venue owned by the Molecey Mill Estate is Pettifer’s Loft situated in the heart of Stamford. You can view this luxurious accommodation on Airbnb by clicking here. Â If you’re interested in staying here please let us know as we receive a preferential rate.
You will also be welcome at the following additional activities throughout the event:
1 Day Pass – Join us for breakfast, our evening meal at a local restaurant on the 2nd night (Tuesday or Saturday) (payable locally for all attendees), shop visits and explore the countryside at these picturesque grounds.
2 Day Pass – Join us for free make and takes at the shop on the 1st day (Monday or Friday), our BBQ/meal on the 1st night at the venue (Monday or Friday), breakfast on both days, our evening meal at a local restaurant on the 2nd night (Tuesday or Saturday) (payable locally for all attendees), shop visits and explore the countryside at these picturesque grounds. Travelling to Us
Our retreat will begin at the shop at 13:00 on either Monday 16th June or Friday 20th June depending on which date you book for. If you plan on driving to us, there is plenty of free, on-street parking available a short walk away from the shop. You can view this further by visiting our workshop page and clicking here. At around 15:30 we will then head to the venue which is around a 5 minute drive away, where there is free parking on-site.
If you plan on getting the train to us, our shop is only a short journey away from either Peterborough or Stamford train station. There are local bus and taxi services operating around the area. You will not need to worry about getting to the venue from the shop as there will be a vehicle you can hop in.
Catering
For the 1st evening, we will be hosting a BBQ/meal with all food provided. On the two mornings you are with us, a continental breakfast will be provided before you start the workshops for the day. Lunch on these days will be a delicious buffet with sweet and savoury options available. On either Tuesday 17th June or Saturday 21st June (depending on which date you book) we will be planning to eat at a local restaurant (meal payable locally), however this is optional. Molecey Mill is a self-catering venue with a fully functional kitchen if you would prefer to cook up your own dish, with several local supermarkets nearby.
