7 Strand Braiding Disk – Braided and Beaded Kit

7 Strand Kumihimo Kit from Riverside Beads will teach you how to use our new disk.  The first of our kits will teach you how to braid with a satin cord.  This kit will also show you how to introduce beads to your braiding.  Featuring beading patterns to develop your braiding using size 8 seed beads.

Riverside Beads 7 Strand Braiding Disk simplifies the process of creating a 7 strand braid.  Also known as fill the gap or 7 strand Kumihimo amongst other names given to this braid.

The flower shape disk only has 8 slots to position 7 strands of cord whilst leaving the empty hole required when creating projects using this braid.  The disk is marked with numbers to guide you around the disk as you braid.

To use your disk choose 7 colours of cord (click here to see our range of satin cord). The disk is also designed for beaded projects using s-lon which can be found here.  Place the cords in numbers 1-7, leaving 8 free.  Position 1 at the top, move the cord from 1 into 8.  Rotate the disk so 2 is at the top and move the cord into the gap (1). Continue to work through the numbers to create your braid.
