Do you have a coffee in hand? Are you ready to settle in and hear some wonderful news? Excellent, then I’ll begin…
A few weeks ago I mentioned my new Millie Angel, available now online and in store. She’s named after the amazing MacMillan charity that my friends and I hold a large coffee morning for every September.
Now it’s only five weeks away and we are gearing up for our biggest and best bash ever.
In 1911, a young man named Douglas Macmillan watched his father die of cancer. His father’s pain and suffering moved Douglas so much, he founded the Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer, which we now know today as the MacMillan nursing charity.
Douglas wanted advice and information to be provided to all people with cancer, homes for patients at low or no cost, and voluntary nurses to attend to patients in their own homes.
His legacy lives on as thousands of families are provided with support for their loved ones in their time of need. Part of this legacy has become the annual MacMillan event where the kindness of strangers across the country create the UK’s largest concurrent coffee morning, raising invaluable funds just by sipping a cuppa and nibbling on a biscuit!

So….September is turning into a very exciting month because not only do we have our special MacMillan coffee morning but I am utterly, extremely, insanely (and many other words ending in ‘ly’) proud to tease the launch of my BRAND….NEW….BOOK!!!
I can’t go into too much detail until it is officially released, but suffice to say it has been 3 years in the planning and designing, and I’m just so crazily happy to be releasing it out into the world. It is truly like birthing a child, what with all the meetings with the publishers, the actual writing of the book and then the many days of photography it has taken to style and make it so.
I’m going to talk more about it in my next blog, when I’ll also be able to announce the launch date and details of where you can pre-order. 🙂
