Lock Down Creations

Hello Beautiful Beaders,

How are we all doing? Have you been zooming with your friends and family? Do you even know what zooming is?? Lol – I didn’t until two weeks ago. (Nb It’s a website where you can video call people)

As much as this lock down has been difficult for many, it has also been so wonderful to see the local and online communities rallying. Lots of positive messages coming in from crafters and Beaders across the globe, sending lovely messages to one another and sharing their lock down creations. From beaded beauties to amazing children’s paintings of technicolored rainbows.
With the world being full of so many rainbows at the moment I have been remaking our six stripe Rainbow Kumihimo braid.

If you’d like to tackle something simpler then, as promised, I have a little step by step guide for you. This month I’m going to show you how to make a super easy, and super gorgeous, large Pearl drop Kate angel.

Kate Angel
You may have all of the components already, otherwise you can buy them on our website or get a complete kit here.
The ‘Kate’ Angel Kit **NOW Half Price** £7.50
Makes 10 Angels and contains:-
Large Pearl Drops
Large Angel Wings
12mm Heads
12mm Sparkle Spacers
Head pins
Step 1. Take a head pin and add a pearl drop and wing.
Step 2. Continue to add the angels head and the sparkle spacer for the halo.
Step 3. Cut the head pin about 1cm above the top of the bead and bend at a 90’ angle on top of the bead.
Step 4. Roll the head pin to create a head pin loop at the top of your wire. Attach onto the finding of your choice.
You can use your finished Angels in so many ways; as a bag charm; a pendant; a light switch pull; a tie back charm; attach to a favourite teddy bear or doll; the sky’s the limit for any angel!
They make such beautiful gifts and will be sure to watch over your loved ones, giving hope and courage in this crazy world right now.
Please do continue to send in your lock down creations, we are loving seeing them all. It’s fun to show them off on Facebook, a la Tony Hart gallery style (who remembers that?!).
Until the next time please take care, stay home, keep calm and carry on crafting.
Happy Beading!
